The Research Project on Employment, Income Distribution and Inclusive Growth (REDI) is a national research programme aimed at deepening understanding of the dynamics of employment, incomes and economic trends. By focusing on the interconnections between these three areas, the project seeks to contribute to policy reforms and development strategies that will address South Africa's unemployment, inequality and poverty challenges.

Research Grants

Incentive grants
to encourage researchers to do research on identified knowledge gaps in the three focus areas

Scholarship grants
to support post-graduate work by students working with a participating researcher-supervisor and to build the research capacity of tudents from previously disadvantaged communitiess

Team grants
to support research undertaken by a team of at least three researchers who produce a minimum of four papers. On the basis of substantial and demonstrable value-added activities, team grants will receive a 20% premium on top of the per-paper grant amount.
