Wages and wage inequality in South Africa 1994-2011: the evidence from household survey data

Inequality is again on the centre-stage in the international debate, with the run-away success of Piketty’s book “Capital in the Twenty-First Century” (Piketty 2014). In many countries in the world inequality has widened over the last few decades, with gains disproportionately concentrated at the top end of the income distribution.
